Lily is almost three weeks old now, and things are beginning to settle down a bit around here (okay, that may just be wishful thinking - but, let's hope it works). Some updates:
Lily is changing every day. She looks so much older than she did just a week ago (although she is still teeny tiny). It appears that she is becoming more curious about her surroundings as the days pass. She enjoys lights, being held upright, bouncing, being swaddled, and eating (thus earning her the nickname piglet).
Lily still does not enjoy sleeping on her own. Our attempts at moving her out of our bed (where she had been sleeping), however, have been somewhat successful. She does get put down alone, and sometimes she sleeps that way. Although her sleep patterns are still sporadic, she is sleeping better at night overall.
Lily does not tolerate being put down - really. She cares not for it. She enjoys being held and snuggled and will sleep soundly in your arms. But, the minute you try to place her in her swing or boppy seat, forget about it. We hope she grows out of this, and are trying (somewhat halfheartedly) to transition her out of this habit. Of course, she doesn't get carried around every minute of every day, but if it were up to her she would.
Lily enjoys strolling, as previously mentioned, and riding in the car. This week, we made a trip to Birmingham for a doctor's appointment (mine) and to visit family for Halloween (a post on that coming shortly). She enjoyed herself.
Okay, enough of that - here is what you really want:
She likes looking in her crib mirror -
