Take it to the bank

We have been getting out quite a bit here lately, which has been great. Fresh air tends to work wonders for the spirit, don't cha think?

On Saturday, we drove to the outskirts of Montgomery to the 43rd annual Pike Road Arts & Crafts Fair. Although it turned out to be a little of a letdown as far as the arts and crafts went, we ended up having a good time. The weather cooperated nicely. We broke out the Moby Wrap, and, after a bit of difficulty in getting it in place, we went about our business. Lily seemed to enjoy riding in the wrap. She slept the entire time in a comatose-like state. So, its safe to say that she found it comfortable. And, it was nice ditching the stroller, which can be a bit cumbersome. Plus, the wrap allows us to wear Lily close - keeping her at a safe distance from germ infested people. All in all, the wrap gets an A plus.

The afternoon outing went so well that Bradford and I decided at the last minute to head to Enterprise on Sunday. Mike and Mom were happy to see us, and I got the opportunity to go to a friend's baby shower (Bradford and Mike watched Lily while Mom and I attended).

Lily enjoyed herself immensely. She is a pretty good traveler, all things considered. She loves riding in the car (as long as it is moving - she hates stopping). And, she likes being anywhere as long as someone will hold her (and it is never difficult finding someone to do that).

All in all, wonderful visit. Lily's first day trip - success!

On Tuesday, we took Lily to see Dr. Mo for her four week checkup. Four weeks - I can hardly believe it.

Lily weighed in at 8 lbs (20th percentile) - that's a full pound gained in two weeks. Dr. Mo complimented us on this accomplishment and told us to keep up the good work. What else? Oh yes, she is 20.5 inches long (25th percentile) and her head circumference is 141/4 inches (25th percentile).

Finally, Dr. Mo, while checking Lily's eyes with his eye checker thingy, said confidently, "She will have blue eyes. You can take that to the bank." How about that?
