Yowza

The needles used for baby shots are big. Seriously big. I know, because I watched a nurse stick three of them into Lily's little thighs Monday morning. Boy, did she wail. Yowza.

Two months old. Can you believe it? Neither can we. Lily now weighs 10lbs 2ozs (30th percentile) and is 22 inches long (45th percentile).

A few two month old Lily specific factoids:

• She knows she has hands and has set herself upon the task of learning to master them. Deliberate movements people - so cool to watch.
• She sleeps in her bassinet now. Yes, that's right. We are not complete failures when it comes to Lily's sleep. She goes to bed between 8:00 and 8:30, waking only to eat - and the length between each of her feedings increases every night it seems.
• She smiles some (but remains quite serious most of the time).
• She watches things now - in a very skeptical manner - like toys and her mobile and us. This is useful. Shaking a toy in her face is a good way to distract her and/or calm her down - thank heavens.
• She has grown out of many of her newborn clothes (and some of her 0-3 month footed sleepers due to her large feet ha!).
• She talks. She will carry on a conversation with us. Who knows what she is saying.
• Likes - walking in her stroller, eating, pooping loudly, her mobile, mirrors, bath time, head massages, sleeping late, stretching, farting while stretching, getting undressed, Mortimer the Moose, lights, her dad's singing, George, having her picture made
• Dislikes - being in the car when its stopped, being tired, being hungry, being forced to sleep alone, socks, vitamins, Lou Dobbs, being still for too long, being bored, spitting up

Oh - add Sam Thomas Roney to the likes list. She met him this week. We took a day trip to Birmingham to do some shopping and stopped in for a visit with the Roney family. That Sam Thomas is one cute baby! He has the biggest cheeks ever and displayed quite a laid back attitude. We enjoyed meeting him and seeing his beautiful big sister Harper (seriously one of the most beautiful children I have ever laid eyes on) who very enthusiastically jumped at the chance to hold the Lily pad. Can you believe we don't have any pictures of the meeting? Shameful.

That's it for now. The next two weeks will be quite busy. On a happy note - three Christmas celebrations. On a sad note - a funeral. My great-grandfather passed away this week, and his funeral will be held this Saturday. So, Bradford, Lily and I will head to Pensacola to say goodbye.
